Thank You For Hearing Us

My girls ask quite often for prayers, whether for themselves or someone else and I always ask to pray with them, right then. I am thankful that they know where our help comes from. When they or anyone update me on a prayer request I say, to them, "let's send up praises" or "Thank You, Jesus" for the answered prayer or having a better way. And thank You for hearing us! I want them to know we are grateful that we can go to God and acknowledge Him answering us. He is always worthy of praise, whether our prayer was answered today or not.

Even Jesus thanked God for hearing His prayer. John 11: 41-42, "Then Jesus looked up and said, 'Father, I thank you that you have heard me. I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me.'” God asks us to find our will in His will. He wants our desires to be His want for us. And if this is what we want then we can go ahead and thank Him for answered prayers no matter how they turn out. We trust that He knows best!

When I am asked to pray I ask God to please make it happen in the most impossible way so that the person knows it couldn't be anyone but Him! He will get all the glory! I want Ephesians 3: 20 to come alive for them. "Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us..."
