"Girl math is avoiding shipping costs by buying more!" I just think this is smart shopping! I have to check myself for justifying this sometime! Most of the time I think I am a smart shopper. Before I go in a store, I always ask God to help me be a wise steward of my time and money and through the years this has helped! However, I need to do this before I shop online. As we unpack in our new home I realize I need this and that so I go online and get what I need right then.
If we ask, God will help us to be wise stewards of our money, He will. I also believe if we tithe and put Him first, it is amazing how our finances work out. I always find something on sale. Because of my love of fashion a lot of people think I spend a lot on clothes, purses and shoes but I think I am very thrifty. Most marriages have one partner who is more of a spender and one partner who is more thrifty. I am the thrifty one!
The Bible talks about prayer about 270 times, it talks about loving other people about 370 times, but it talks about how we use our money and our possessions over 2,000 times.
Proverbs 22:7: "The borrower is servant to the lender." Proverbs 21: 20, "The wise man saves for the future, but the foolish man spends whatever he gets." (TLB) God even compares someone who owes money to someone who is a slave. Unwise spending ultimately robs us of our freedom! Even Thomas Jefferson said, "never spend your money before you have it."
