Years ago a pastor went through my house and prayed God's blessings over it and rebuked and demanded evil spirits to flee, in the name of Jesus. He did this in every room and lastly opened the front door, demanding the evil to flee! My three pound yorkie wouldn't jump or go down the stairs but when the door was opened, he jumped out of Mike's arms, ran down the stairs, barking and chasing "something" out of our yard! I (and you) have the authority to do this so through the years I "clean house" and sometimes my yard and I did it in my work office. Joshua 24: 15, "...as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord."
We have that authority to rebuke evil In The Name of Jesus! Matthew 10: 8, "Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give."
Why did I have to do it over and over? Because evil sneaks back in. I also play Christian music 24/7, quietly, in a room in our house because evil will not reside where worship is. There will always be spiritual warfare so we have to "clean house" again and again. It is just like our mind - we are always under attack. John 16; 33, "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
When life is hard we have to choose peace. Peace lives where God is. He does not want us to fear or be anxious about anything. All we have to do is cry out to Him. 1 Peter 5: 7, "casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you." We are to be confident that He will comfort us and provide us peace that surpasses all understanding. Philippians 4: 7, "...and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Thanks be to God! Now, go clean your house!
