I'm Done!

"The other day I told God, 'I'm done!' He replied, 'Good. Now I can begin!'" I put up with a whole lot without getting mad but when I am done, I am done. I love His response! He just needs me out of the way and quit trying to be in control!

When life isn’t going our way and we aren't trusting God, we are trying to be in control and it never works! Soon we are weary and burdened. God's Word tells us what to do in Matthew 11: 28-30, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

How do we go to God? Psalm 46: 10 says, "Cease striving and know that I am God.” (NASB) When we know that God is GOD, we can trust Him and acknowledge that He knows best. When doubts creep in and we need help with our unbelief we go to God again and again and again. Philippians 4: 6, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." And then we are given God's peace! Philippians 4: 7, "And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

When we are at peace and not busy being in control, we are able to enjoy the other parts of every day life. We don't miss the beautiful flowers in front of us and all the ways God is working. We are not exhausted and fatigued when we are not trying to do something that we were not created to do. Let go and let God!
