My Style

When I was in high school, in the 1980's, the style was preppy. I loved the a line wool skirts with knee socks, clogs and a blazer. I loved the add-a-bead necklaces and the monogram pin on our turtleneck under our sweaters. I did not like the pink and green together. Looking back I think it is funny I liked any of that because I tend to like things that are different and unique. Since growing up, I have laid out my clothes the night before. I love to put outfits together. In fact, I have had people ask me to come and put outfits together for them using what they have. I just helped someone recently and we had the best time. Just one of those things I enjoy doing while using my creativity!
Sometimes in a world that peer pressure is rampant and people are judged for everything, it can be hard to be the real you. We were all made by the same Potter but we are all different shapes, sizes and made for different uses. Our God is too big to have used one mold in an assembly line to make us. No! He knew each of us and knew what we needed. Jeremiah 1: 5, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."
I have found that when I do a "job" that I do not enjoy I am not as good at it. I feel a calling to my "job". In fact, it is my ministry, not a job. It took me many years to learn my gifts and talents. John 3: 27, "To this John replied, 'A person can receive only what is given them from heaven.'" I am still learning who God intends me to be. I love how God knew that I would still be able to use my creativity. No matter what we are doing, we need to be a God-pleaser, not a man-pleaser. Galatians 1: 10, "Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ."
Job 17: 6, "He says to the snow, 'Fall on the earth,' and to the rain shower, 'Be a mighty downpour.'" He tells them to do one thing - to fall. He just wants the snow and the rain and us to do one thing. Do what He created them to do. We can take stress off of our lives by being who God wants us to be. As I have said before, you be you!
What is God asking you do to? Just What has God created you to be?
