You Are Worthy

I saw this on social media. "If you are not being treated with love and respect, check your price tag. Perhaps you have marked yourself down. It's you who tell people what you are worth by what you'll accept. Get off of the clearance rack and get behind the glass where they keep all the 'valuables'" I thought of all the people who need to hear that: female and male, young and old, rich and poor. Unworthiness does not discriminate!

The Bible is clear that the devil comes to kill, steal and destroy and I believe he loves to use things like unworthiness to destroy you. John 10: 10, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy..." Proverbs 23: 7, "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he." NKJV Be careful! Be careful what you think because that is what you will believe! I enjoyed a video of a toddler whose mother would have her repeat back, "I am beautiful. I am strong. I am loved. I am worthy." I wish I had thought to do that with my girls. We cannot tell people enough!

The reason many of us are never satisfied with our body, our career, our circumstances, etc. is because we are looking to the world for acceptance. Well, here is the cold hard truth! Nothing this world has to offer will ever satisfy! Don't waste your time or energy looking there! We need to look to Jesus for validation! Romans 12: 2, "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."

God does not compare us to others or anything. He just wants us to be ourselves. You be you! Of course, we want to move forward and be better but make sure we are moving toward Christ. Then we will find our real value and we will have peace. Philippians 4: 7, "And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." God knows us so well. Matthew 10: 30-31, "And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows." Iyanla Vanzant said, "comparison is an act of violence against the self."

1 Peter 1: 18-19, "For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect." I find myself talking down to myself when I cannot do something or cannot remember something. I have been trying to speak life instead of death so why aren't I saying out loud, all the time, "you are worthy." I am enough! It cost God plenty to get me out of the empty way of life. He was willing to pay the price because I was enough. I was worthy.

We are worthy because God tells us we are. Isaiah 43: 4, "Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you..." Ephesians 2: 10, "For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." We do not deserve or earn being called worthy. Through God's grace, He sees us as infinitely precious. Infinitely worthy. That means worthy without limits! We will always have work to do on ourselves - for the rest of our life! Even though God is not finished with us yet, He still sees us as worthy.
