What About The People Who Never Heard About Jesus

What about the people who never heard about Jesus? I remember wondering that. It was explained to me that just as birds "know" to fly south for the winter or to fly in "v" formation, we "know". God put something inside of us when we were formed. Another way I like to think of it is that we all have that God shaped hole inside of us that always wants to be filled. A yearning even when we don't realize it.

John 14: 6, "Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." We know that we will never be good enough. Salvation is not based on good works or we would never make it. No one will ever be good enough. Not even one! Romans 3: 10, "As it is written: 'There is no one righteous, not even one;'" Romans 3: 20, "Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin." We must rely on our faith in God to be saved by His grace.

I have always felt close to God in His creation. How can I stand and look at the vast ocean and not wonder where it came from? How could I go to South Africa and see the beautiful oceans and mountains and not think of God. Seeing Africa's Big Five face to face, having an old baboon come sit beside me and be in a traffic jam of elephants. Where did those beautiful animals come from? I was constantly in awe of God's creation! Romans 1: 20, "For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse." According to this scripture we are without excuse because we all can see God in His creation. i believe even if someone has never heard of the Bible, all people "know" God. They will know Him through Creation and their own conscience.

My girls used to ask me about people who think they are right about their religion and how do we know we are right. I think something "tugs" on our heart when we are right or let's us know when we need to walk away. Haven't we all seen a magnificent sunset? A black sky that looks like billions of diamonds dancing around a bright moon just hanging in space! Maybe Psalm 19: 1-4 is why creation speaks to me. "The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world." It is like they speak quietly to our heart.

Our God is a loving God and I know He wants all of His children with Him for eternity. Remember, our God is greater, our God is able and our God is good! He is powerful enough to present Himself to everyone so that "people are without excuse." If someone looks at creation and wonders where it comes from, they have knowledge of God. And God will make a way for that person to get answers and to hear about salvation.

What our question should be is, “What will you do now that you have heard about Jesus?”
