I am always amazed at how God made our bodies. They are truly wonderfully made. Psalm 139: 14, "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful,
I know that full well." I believe in doing a lot of things naturally instead of going, first, for an antibiotic or other things. Many of the things I do are supposed to enhance our immune system. God designed our immune system to keep harmful germs out and destroy those that do get in. Our immune systems are made up of a cells and organs that are designed to protect our bodies from infection. When infections are detected, a healthy immune system will release white blood cells to fight the infection.
I believe the same to be true with our spirit. As a healthy Christian our spirit will want to get rid of the sin as soon as it is recognized. When we give our life to Jesus, God's Holy Spirit comes in live inside of us. At that moment, there is a constant battle between the Spirit and the flesh. We will never be immune to sin, but Jesus does make us more sensitive to sin. I thought of this recently when I saw this quote on social media. "When the Holy Spirit makes you delete the whole text and just reply with ok." Exactly! How many times have we had a response for someone and knew better. Recently Mike and I were laughing about a response - a truthful response - and he said, "no, it doesn't feel right." That was his conscience - the Spirit. 2 Timothy 1:7, "For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline."
We will always be inclined to sin and Satan will keep giving us as many opportunities to sin as he can. But we are not helpless. If the Spirit dwells in us, He will help us. Romans 6: 6, "For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin—" And this is wonderful news - God will always give us a way out. 1 Corinthians 10: 13, "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it."
God gives us His power to resist temptation and sin! Temptation is everywhere but so is God!
