Mike and I heard a sermon by Dr. Charles Stanley and I think there is a lot of good information for people to hear. As Christians we are to glorify God in all things which includes our work, where we spend a lot of time. Colossians 3: 23, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord..." Mike and I say we work for God.
As a Christian employee, if our boss tells us to do something we are to do it, without fuss or complaining. Ephesians 5: 21, "Submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ." Philippians 2: 14-15, "'Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.' Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky." If we have agreed to work for a specific pay grade then we must hold up our bargain. Matthew 20: 13, "...I am not being unfair to you, friend. Didn’t you agree to work for a denarius?" If someone does not treat us right, know that we are learning how to treat others and God will use this. Every experience is part of God's plan and He wastes nothing! Romans 8: 28, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." You do your part and let God do His part.
As a Christian boss, are we treating our employees right and fair? Ecclesiastes 7: 16, "Do not be over righteous, neither be overwise" We should not try to get someone as cheap as we can but we should be fair and be a blessing to them just as we expect them to bless the business. Luke 10: 7, "for the worker deserves his wages." Are we glorifying God in the way we treat them? Proverbs 3: 27, "Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act." Is our ego in the way? Proverbs 11: 2, "When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom."
"Our love for God is displayed in how we treat others; honor God by honoring one another."
