I think we have all, at some point in our life, been envious of someone's "perfect" life. When people let jealousy take over, it can turn into a breeding ground for negativity. Jealousy can turn into a competition. I used to think this was just a middle school girl issue but it is very much an adult issue - male and female. There is always, always going to be someone who has a bigger house, a nicer car, a bigger boat, a dream job, a gift or talent you want, more money, the best wardrobe, the best vacations, they are smarter, they are better looking, etc. I can assure you their life is not perfect. You be you, the you that God intended you to be!

If you are jealous of someone else, realize that you are special and it is too exhausting trying to be someone else. And it takes away your peace! Regardless, if our life was planned or not, God wants us here! And He made each of us special. Why are we special? Because God made us! David talks about how God made each of us. Psalm 139:13-15, "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be." Think about it, He KNIT each of us together thinking of each of our days! We were "fearfully and wonderfully made." He even knows how many days we will live on earth. Isaiah 43:4, "Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you..." Just as The Creator of the universe chose where to hang each star in the sky, He chose every part of our body.

As He made us, He gave us spiritual gifts through the Holy Spirit. These gift enable us to have unique ministries. Jeremiah 1: 5, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” All we have to do is to receive those gifts and use them for God's purpose. God has a purpose and a plan for each of us. I believe that plan is in our spiritual DNA and that is why we feel passion for it when we find those gifts. Jeremiah 29: 11, "'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'" Don't waste energy trying to be something you are not. Trying to live someone else's life is stressful and a burden that God never intended you to bear.

You were fearfully and wonderfully made! God has a plan and a purpose for your life! You are special and made in His image. Mike and I have a saying at home, "you be you and I'll be me." So you be you, the you God created you to be! "Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself."
