Ever since I began starting my new ministry, I have been attacked by the enemy. He wants me to think I am too busy or not able to do what I need to do. He wants me to think I am not good enough. He wants me to remember my old self and the bad things I have done. He does not want me to share the good news or glorify God! Jesus was attacked as soon as He began His ministry. Matthew 4: 17, "From that time on Jesus began to preach, 'Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.'"
After a mountain top experience, we can expect spiritual attacks from the enemy. Jesus was attacked by Satan right after His baptism. Matthew 3: 16-17, "As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” 4:1, "Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil." We can expect the same. Satan will attack us when we are weak or vulnerable, whether physically or emotionally. Jesus was attacked after His forty day fast! Matthew 4: 2-3, "After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. The tempter came to him and said, 'If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.'”
Satan hasn't made his last attack, he always returns! Remember, he doesn't mess with those he's already got! Luke 4: 13, "When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left him until an opportune time." Even though we sometimes fall into sin, ultimately we are victorious through Jesus! This is a promise of God! 2 Timothy 4: 18, "The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory for ever and ever. Amen."
"The devil wouldn't be attacking you so hard if there wasn't something valuable inside of you. Thieves don't break into empty houses."
