Wrapped In Love

Recently I was chilly and I picked up one of two of my favorite sweaters that were my dads. At first they smelled like him but now they just remind me of him and I can picture him in them. Sometimes they warm me but they always comfort me. I wrap myself in love and memories. Even greater is being wrapped in my Heavenly Father's arms.

We are held securely by our Father. Jesus assured us that He is greater than all who may surround us and that no one is able to snatch us out of His hand. 2 Samuel 22: 3, “my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation. He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior— from violent people you save me.” God steps in as our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Psalm 46: 1,“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”

God will only do this if we allow Him. He never forces us because we have free will. Are you fighting His arms? Are you saying, “I’ve got this, God.” Those arms, when tightly wrapped around you, are a shelter of protection! Psalm 91: 4, “He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.” Do you need to be wrapped in your Father’s arms? Psalm 16: 1, “Keep me safe, my God, for in you I take refuge.”
