My mom and dad showed me what it was to be a prayer warrior/partner. I have always felt it is an honor to pray for someone or to be asked to pray for someone. I was a prayer partner at a healing service and one of the last people to come up said, “God told me to come pray for you.” Psalm 32:8, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.” That person had no idea why but I knew. I could not control the tears because I knew God had nudged that person to pray with me. Sometimes we do not even know what to pray for for ourselves and someone intercedes. That is what my friend did. James 5: 16, “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”
It would be easy to just sit in your seat and pray for that person. Maybe tell them that you prayed for them. But to be obedient and do what God told you is more powerful than you know. And you may never know what it meant to that person. I like to tell people because I think that boosts their confidence and their faith. Acts 28: 31, “ He proclaimed the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ—with all boldness and without hindrance!”
My faith grew that evening because I knew God saw, God cared, and God was there. With all the people there and all the prayers and praises, God made sure to send me that gift. Prayer is the most precious gift you can give someone. Ephesians 3: 14, “For this reason I kneel before the Father…”
