When God Brings It

I kept feeling that God was telling me that I needed to do a women's retreat. After all, He had laid this on my heart and I had done it previously, for four years. I had known He was calling me to do it again but it wasn't happening. Maybe, now was the time. I kept hearing Him but where was I to do the retreat? I felt He wanted me to start writing and trust Him to bring the location. I kept quiet and wrote in my head. 2 Corinthians 5: 7, "For we live by faith, not by sight."

Out of the blue, a friend told me that she would be honored for me to do a women's retreat at her center. I had never thought of that. I gave her some dates and they were available. WOW! I knew this was God. I was getting ready to do a conference that Saturday and I was overwhelmed. A friend came up and asked me what was going on with my ministry. Surprisingly, I told him I was thinking about a women's retreat. He asked why I had not asked him to do the food. He said he had that date available and wanted to do it. O.k. Things were busy with my mom and deciding where she would be moving to so I let it go. The following Wednesday my friend said he had spoken to another friend and they were planning on doing the food for the retreat. 2 Corinthians 9: 8, "And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work."

I had a location and a kitchen crew but I didn't know if I was planning on doing the retreat. I called my friend, who helps me with my conferences, and thought she would back me. I said, "don't you agree there is no way to get this done, with all that I have going on with mom and my move?" She said, "well, you have a location laid in your lap?" "Yes." "You have someone to do the food?" "Yes." "You have your schedule done, right?" "Yes." "What else do you have?" "I have to write", I told her, "and there is registration." She replied, "You write and I can get registration done." OK, God! I guess I better get busy. As my friend said, "God has laid this in your lap, we have to do this!" Isiah 58: 11, "The Lord will guide you always..."

I am having to trust God. As my pastor, Barry, said, if it is of God, you will not have to jump or jerk. Sounds like this is of God! So I am going to get busy writing. I can feel when God lays something on my heart because I can not let it go. He fills my mind with words and gives me an excitement or expectancy. Truly, God provides everything! He just wants me to be obedient. Philippians 4: 19, "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." I am learning, slowly, when God brings it - you don't have to worry about the details!
