What's Troubling You?

"There is nothing that can trouble you as much as your own thoughts." After months of the same "issue" God softly told me one day that I was spending more time thinking about the issue than Him! What hurt so much was that He was exactly right! God was not being silent, my distractions were too loud. No issue, thing or person deserves to be thought of more than God! It was a joyous conviction. I did not want to be that person and God helped me change my prayers and I began to see things happen.

I began saying, "I trust You with this, God. Bring the truth to light." He answers our prayers not always in our time frame or our way but He knows best. I ask Him to protect my ears and my mind from things. "Your mind is a garden. Your thoughts are the seeds. You can grow flowers or you can grow weeds." Instead of the weeds choking out the good things we have to change our focus from the problem to the Problem Solver.

The apostle Paul went through more than most of us; threats, beatings and being in prison. He wrote to the Philippians: Philippians 4: 6-7, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." When we are troubled, take it to God! He never meant for you to handle it.
