We Live Life Forward, Understand It Backwards

"We live life forward but understand it backwards!" We all have times that we wonder where God is or why things do not seem to be going right. The most dangerous thing I can do is let my thoughts take over! I always say I can snowball anything, especially at night in the dark! The best thing I can do is go to God or His Word!

God tells us that He will not leave us. Hebrews 13: 5-6, "God has said, 'Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.' So we say with confidence, 'The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.'" God is Emmanuel which means, "God with us." He is always with us and does not leave us no matter what we are going through. And He doesn't stop there! God will redeem things, bringing beauty from ashes. Romans 8: 28, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." There will be things you have to do through your suffering that will make you grow. We are told to trust and do good. Psalm 37: 3, "Trust in the Lord and do good..." We have to trust because there are things we will not realize He has done until it is over and we look back. That is when our faith grows and each time we will trust a little more and a little sooner.

Satan wants us to focus on what is wrong with us and what bad things are going on. 1 Peter 5: 7, "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." Proverbs 3: 8, "This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones." What do we have to lose? Stress!

"Christianity is not the removal of suffering but the addition of grace to endure suffering triumphantly."
