Time With God

My family took me to the mountains to celebrate my ten year anniversary. They offered a party or a trip with the six of us. I chose the trip with them because I love spending time with them and making new memories! Just as I enjoy spending time with my family, God loves when I spend time with Him! James 4: 8, "Come near to God and he will come near to you."

In high school everyone said my best friend and I talked just alike. No one could tell us apart on the telephone. That is because we spent lots of time together. As we spend more time with God and His Word, He changes us to be more like Him! His will becomes our will. His desires become our desires. We simply cannot remain the same person after spending time with Him. Ephesians 5: 1, "Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children."

As we spend time with friends or family, our love and trust grows. When we spend time with God, our faith and trust grow. Our confidence in His power grows. Let's use our time to listen and focus on those we love the most with God at the top of that list! John 3: 30, "He must become greater; I must become less."

"The key to having God's 'abundant life' is keeping Him in His rightful place in our priorities." Joyce Meyer
