Time Is Precious

"Time is precious. Waste it wisely." It is very common for me to spend hours in the water and I did that a lot this past week. I thanked God for my parents building the tradition of family vacations that I have never forgotten. I thanked Him that Mike and I both feel it is important for us to continue making those memories with our kids. I thanked Him for a wonderful time we were having with all the love and laughter. But mostly, I thanked Him for His love and how He speaks to me in that ocean! I feel so close to Him out there and there is no more peaceful place for me. I am grateful!

Gratitude is my response to God's grace. Psalm 50: 14, "Sacrifice thank offerings to God,

fulfill your vows to the Most High..." Psalm 105: 1, "Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name;

make known among the nations what he has done." The Psalms continue to tell us to thank God. Psalm 107: 8, "Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done." Being grateful can draw us near to God at any moment. He was right there in that ocean with me! I was in His presence!

One evening the ocean was "angry" from the hurricane brewing. I sat in awe as I watched the waves, bigger and bigger, come crashing down. I was reminded of God's power and how He can do the impossible! Psalm 93: 4, "Mightier than the thunder of the great waters, mightier than the breakers of the sea—the Lord on high is mighty." I had seven days to spend with Him, in His creation which left me refreshed and renewed. I had time to work some things out with His guidance and He helped me discern some things. Spending time with God puts everything else in perspective and is never wasted! So, I may have looked like I was wasting time but our time was precious!
