Our children’s choir sang Phil Wickham’s, “House of the Lord”. You had to smile as you watched the hand motions and heard the joyful singing. This was just what I needed to bring me to the Throne of God!
“There's joy in the house of the Lord today And we won't be quiet
We shout out Your praise
There's joy in the house of the Lord
Our God is surely in this place”
The sermon was about self doubt. I think most of us have some of that. We have over 70,000 thoughts per day and not all are good. What do we choose to listen to? This week I was feeling self doubt about what I was going to share at an upcoming conference that God has called me to do and has given me the words. I know those thoughts were from Satan but he is so persistent and loud. Then I start to let those thoughts sink in. I was at work, praying, looked up and I saw the verse on my wall that I had put up three years ago when I felt God's calling! I had not looked at it in a year! Exodus 4: 12, “Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.” God did help me and He did tell me what to say! Just like the sermon said, you overcome those negative thoughts by going to God’s Word!
I think about those tiny disciples singing and I pray they learn this very valuable lesson early on! God's Word is bigger than those negative thoughts!
