There Is Power In The Name of Jesus

As a child I remember hearing that God's Word contains power. Genesis 1: 3, "And God said, 'Let there be light,' and there was light." He said it and it came to pass. When my girls were growing up I taught them that if any body tried to harm them to say, out loud, "I rebuke you in the name of Jesus." I explained the power that the name of Jesus has. In the movie, War Room, Mrs. Clara, an older lady, is robbed at knife point. She stands up to the man and tells him to drop the knife in the name of Jesus, and he gets freaked out and runs. The police are shocked at how calm Clara is but she says she trusts God to protect her. There is power in the name of Jesus and we need to remember that!

Isaiah 55: 10-11, "As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it

without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it." When His Word is spoken something is going to happen. God's plans are bigger than our circumstances.

When we proclaim the name of Jesus, we are telling that we have been given the same authority as Jesus. When we face obstacles we can speak the name of Jesus like an all access pass getting us where we need to go. Jesus gives us those powers in His name. Matthew 10: 7-8, "As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give." There is power in simply speaking the name of Jesus.
