The Lord Bless You

Happy birthday to my husband, Mike on Saturday! On this special day I want to thank God for putting Mike in my life. He moved in with two of my neighbor buddies and I met him when I asked if they wanted to go to the grocery store with me. He jumped!! He got his groceries while I looked at Hallmark cards and cried. He asked if I could make spaghetti if he got the stuff and I said yes. He still loves my spaghetti and I still cry at Hallmark cards!

Here we are years later and I am more thankful for him every day. He is a gift from God. I know every good and perfect gift is from above. James 1: 17, "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." I hope today he is reminded of what a wonderful gift he is to many!

His life has not been easy but God wastes nothing and He has used it all for His purpose. Romans 8: 28, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." I see God all over Mike's life and I love how he makes God his priority. In Psalm 71 the psalmist talks about God's presence in his life. God "took me out of my mother's womb". He proclaims with thankfulness, "O God, You have taught me from my youth; and to this day I declare Your wondrous works." And as the psalmist grows older, he has the honor to proclaim "(God's) strength to this generation, (His) power to everyone who is to come." Just like God blessed the psalmist, He has blessed Mike with His presence through his entire life, even when he didn't know it. God is faithful! I thank God how Mike has grown in his walk with God. Nothing better than seeing him spend an hour with God every morning!

Mike, I ask "the Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace." Numbers 6: 24-26 I pray God grants you the desires of your heart! I love you! Happy, joyful birthday, Mike!
