That Ain't My Stuff!

As I have gotten older and wiser I have decided when I make spaghetti I do not wear white! Too many times I have ruined clothing by splattering tomato sauce! If I do not remove it right that minute it is set and will not come out!

Isaiah 1: 18, "'Come now, let us settle the matter,' says the Lord. 'Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.'" The prophet was describing the red dye from a small insects eggs. When clothes were dyed with this the color was fixed! Rain nor washing would remove it. Sin is the same. Only God can cleanse a heart from sin. God forgives us and gives us a new life, washing us clean. 2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:[a] The old has gone, the new is here!"

This is such wonderful news - we can be washed clean! Ezekial 36:25-26, "I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh."

Someone recently shared that they were worried about people thinking they are still the person who made those poor decisions. I was reminded of a social media post I had seen and I shared it with them. "Trying to hurt me by bringing up my past is like trying to rob my old house. I don't live there any more! That ain't my stuff!"

"When the past calls, let it go to voicemail. It has nothing to say."
