Thanksgiving may be over but we should always be thankful. What are you thankful for today?
1 Thessalonians 5:18, "give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus." When things are not going well this can be hard. We see people going through trials all through Scripture. Habakkuk 3:17-18, "Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior."
Once you begin thanking God for the hard times you see how He is working. He always proves Himself faithful beyond belief! Ephesians 3: 20: "Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us..." 26 Romans 8: 28, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."
When we thank God, in all circumstances, we see things differently. God sends forth His peace. Philippians 4: 7, "And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." He gives us His strength to persevere. Nehemiah 8: 10, "Nehemiah said, 'Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.'”
There is always, always, always something to be thankful for!
