Thankful IN Everything

I remember standing on a stool and helping my Granny make biscuits. I didn't like flour, lard or buttermilk alone but when those biscuits were cooked they were my favorite. God wastes nothing and He will make something great out of all the bad stuff. When life gets hard and I don't understand what is going on I need to trust. Romans 8: 28, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

I can look back on tough times and all the tears I have cried and, now that I am on the other side, and see how God used it all to make something beautiful! I have thanked God for letting me go through those tough times to make me closer to Him and a stronger Christian woman. Ecclesiastes 3: 11, "He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end." Jesus said we would have trouble in John 16: 33. "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." Jesus understands suffering. Hebrews 4: 15, "For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are yet he did not sin."

James 1: 2-3, "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance." God can use all of our circumstances for our good. We do not have to be thankful for everything but we are called to be thankful IN everything. 1 Thessalonians 5: 18, "...give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."
