Mom picks up beautiful fall leaves and puts them on her table to enjoy God's creation. She comments on the artistic touch on each leaf, all different with stunning golds, oranges, reds, greens, purples and yellows! To Mom, it seems a pity to leave something so beautiful lying on the ground. Deuteronomy 10: 21, “He is the one you praise; he is your God, who performed for you those great and awesome wonders you saw with your own eyes.”

Job 5: 9, “He performs wonders that cannot be fathomed, miracles that cannot be counted.” These leaves are God’s wonders and as we learn to see things through God’s eyes, we begin to see more beautiful things. I believe there are small miracles, in front of us each day, waiting for us to notice. All trees could be green but they are not and no two are alike. Ecclesiastes 3: 11, “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”

Fall leaves remind us to be thankful for the little things, for the things we take for granted. God has given us everything we need and more, like beautiful leaves to enjoy when summer leaves us! This thanksgiving let’s spend time, each day, praising God! John 1: 3, "Through him all things were made..." Let's not take for granted beautiful leaves, birds singing, flowers blooming, sunshine, rain, stars, oceans, lakes, ponds, creeks, turtles sunning by the water, the smell of fresh rain, freshly cut grass and honeysuckle! God's wonders! Psalm 100: 4-5, “Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.

I pray you and your family have a beautiful, gracious filled Thanksgiving week!
