When my first child was born one of my college roommates came to visit. I remember her saying, there is nothing sexier than seeing your husband holding your baby and loving on it. I had to agree at that time. Now I believe the sexiest thing is seeing my husband as the spiritual leader of our family. When I wake up in the morning he is having his devotions and praying for our family. 1
I have a husband that loves God so much that he has to love me. He loves God so much that he forgives me. He is respectful. I have always thought of my husband as handsome and that is important but his godly character is what makes him most attractive. When I was younger I was attracted to good looking guys but they had to be fun and make me laugh. That is still important to me but not most important. I know single people whose pride, brought on by what society deems beautiful, keeps them from appreciating the person they should be pursuing.
Mike always tells me he thanks God for me. Proverbs 18: 22, "He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord." When studying about this verse I read, "As a man pursues a woman, she often naturally grows more and more physically attracted to him as she is able to perceive his godly character and intentional leadership." This is what I am talking about! And the good news is that it works both ways!
I read that a woman's holiness will enhance her physical beauty in a Christian man's eyes. Thank you, Jesus! Listen ladies, we may be getting older but as we, and our spouses, grow in God, holiness will enhance our beauty in our man's eyes! Romans 10: 15, "And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: 'How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!'" In the same way the most, physically, beautiful woman will be unattractive to a Christian man if she is immoral. Proverbs 11: 22, "Like a gold ring in a pig’s snout is a beautiful woman who shows no discretion."
