I can think back on my past and the most hurtful, tough times are the parts that God uses the most in my ministry. As I was preparing to speak at a women's conference and felt led to share this painful part and then took it out. This happened about three times and then I finally prayed about it. Clearly, God wanted me to leave it in there. Since I just had notes - was not reading - maybe the Holy Spirit would hide it from me. Haha. Anyway, I shared these few sentences in the middle of my talk. Afterwards, the first lady to come up was in her 70's and she just asked me how I forgave. Several others asked about the situation. I didn't want to share the flaws of my life but that is what other's need to hear.

I thought of this when I saw this quote. "You have been assigned this mountain to show others it can be moved." I don't believe God caused this to happen - people's free will caused it but God knew He could use it for good. Romans 8: 28, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." And sharing that and seeing God use it helped me heal even more!

Remember the woman at the well who had the encounter with Jesus? John 4: 28-29, "Then, leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people, 'Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah?'” Go down to verse 39, "Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony, 'He told me everything I ever did.'" You may not feel confident to quote Scripture but you can be confident in what you feel and what you know God has done in your life!
