Patience Is Not My Thing!

Once I felt my will was in line with God's will for me to start a ministry, there was not much I could do but wait and trust. Hebrews 6: 12, "...through faith and patience inherit what has been promised." If I wanted the desire of my heart to come to pass I had to wait on God's perfect timing.

That took a while! Psalm 37: 7, "Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes." Keep trusting. Hebrews 10: 36, "That’s why Hebrews 10:36 says, “You have need of patience” (NMB) We think of waiting as doing nothing but that is not what we are doing. We are persevering in our faith as we trust God and His perfect timing.

Abraham and Sarah waited a lifetime to get the promise of a son and then another 25 years for the arrival of their son! Noah waited for the rain. Daniel waited through the night in a den full of lions. Joseph waited in prison 13 years for a crime he didn't commit. Moses waited 40 years to be called. Jesus waited 30 years to begin His ministry! And I couldn't understand why it was taking so long for me?! God's timing is perfect! Isaiah 55: 8-9, "'For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,' declares the Lord. 'As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.'" Thank You, God, that I can trust You even when I do not understand why or what I am waiting for! Thanks be to God!
