I have always lived close to the beach and growing up I was there most days. Most of my childhood memories include the smell of salt water, swimming, feeling sand between my toes, looking for sharks teeth and collecting shells. On a hot day there was nothing better than the refreshing cool water. In the evenings there was nothing more beautiful than God's sunsets! Dad always said the salt water could heal anything and the older I get the more I realize it can heal physically, emotionally and spiritually!
Being at the beach is really one of the best things you can do for your health! The sun exposure is so good for us, especially first thing in the morning, to set our circadian rhythm. Circadian rhythms are 24-hour cycles that are part of the body's internal clock. Also, when we are at the beach we are grounding which connects our body to the earth's magnetic field. Doing these things help keep us from stress and inflammation. When we get that connection we release positive ions and take in the negative ions. Spending ten minutes in the water is better than an Epsom salt bath for muscle relaxation. It is rich in magnesium chloride.
Some people need mountains, lakes, snow and some of us need salt water.
Psalm 33: 6-7, "By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, their starry host by the breath of his mouth. He gathers the waters of the sea into jars; he puts the deep into storehouses." On the third day, God created the oceans. On the fifth day, He filled them with fish and sea creatures. Approximately 70% of the earth's surface is covered by water. There is so much we have not seen! "The cure for anything is salt water: sweat, tears, or the sea."
“There's nothing wrong with enjoying looking at the surface of the ocean itself, except that when you finally see what goes on underwater, you realize that you've been missing the whole point of the ocean. Staying on the surface all the time is like going to the circus and staring at the outside of the tent.” – Dave Barry
