No Plan B

Writer: Jill Jarrell NewsomeJill Jarrell Newsome

My husband, Mike said, "there is no plan B." He had his mind set and would see it to fruition. He quickly added, "if that is what God wants". He was saying that if this was part of God's plan then he would do what he had to do to make it work. With God, there is no plan B!

Romans 10:17, "Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ." Faith only comes this way, through God's Word. Paul preached the "Word" of faith. He wasn't preaching his ideas or his experiences but he was preaching the Word of God. When he did this, faith came to those who heard him. John 6: 51, "I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world."

Faith can come by hearing. Romans 10:8, "But what does it say? 'The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,' that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim...'" So if this faith shows up in our mouth we should be talking differently. With faith in our heart, we will be thinking differently. We will have a confidence and a trust that oozes from the inside of us showing that we believe in God's Word. Often times people recognize this when we are going through tough times and we believe in God's Word to get us through. Simon Peter said, "we have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God."

If we reject Jesus there is no plan B. We must recognize we are sinners and accept God's gift of salvation. You are the only one who can make this choice for your life. Christ is the One Who holds the words of eternal life. '
