As I have reflected on this past year and thought about the new year, I find myself excited! Mike and I are expecting to have a great year and yes I know it will come with trials! The good news is that no matter what we face, we will face it with God! We have joy which will carry us through all circumstances.

I am also excited because I believe we have seasons in our lives. Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8,

"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace."

As I reflect on this past year I think of Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8 and think of the seasons we went through. I feel we have seen the "tear down", "weeping", "scattered stones", "a time to throw away", "time to uproot" and probably more. The whole scripture does not read like that it says: a time to tear down AND a time to build, a time to weep AND a time to laugh, a time to scatter stones AND a time to gather them, a time to embrace AND a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search AND a time to give up, a time to keep AND a time to throw away and a time to tear AND a time to mend. That means I can look forward to building, laughing, gathering, embracing and mending!

"May the tears you cried in 2023 water the seeds you're planting for 2024!"
