Maybe God Is Saying, "Wait"

I know that God can take care of me and do what is best for me. He knows me better than I know myself. I believe all of that but you wouldn't know it by some of my conversations with Him. Through the years I have learned to ask for something and then just thank Him for however He chooses to answer that prayer because I trust Him. Every time that particular thought comes up I say, "I trust You, God!" But today that was extra hard. I had a hard time submitting to the whats and the whens of my life.

I can long for something all I want but that will not change the reality of time! If we are struggling we must turn to God, trusting Him with His perfect timing. Proverbs 3: 5, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding." This makes perfect sense to me, down the road, when I look back. I must trust Ecclesiastes 3:11, "He has made everything beautiful in its time." God knows every moment in our life and even through the tough times, it is all part of His timing, not our own. Ecclesiastes 3:1, "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens." It says, "everything" so He has not forgotten our circumstance, it's just not His time.

The Bible says it is GOOD for us to wait on the Lord. Lamentations 3: 26, "it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord." It also says, quietly! I think that means patiently with no grumbling. I have found that I laugh when I talk to God about a certain subject. I do believe, with all my heart, that His timing is just right and things will work out but I still like to chat about it....just in case He forgot!

I don't know what you are waiting for but God says its not the perfect time yet. In the meantime we must remember 1 Peter 5: 6, "Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time." We must trust God even when His answer is, "wait".
