Years ago I decided I would no longer say I am lucky. I am blessed! I love the word "blessed, blessings and bless! I think blessings encompasses so many things! Blessings are God's favor and protection. What else could we want? You do not have to be wealthy or in good health to feel blessed! Blessings may not seem like a good thing at the time.
Here are the lyrics to Laura Story's song, “Blessings”
What if my greatest disappointments or the aching of this life is a revealing of a greater thirst this world can’t satisfy?
What if your blessings come through raindrops? What if your healing comes through tears? What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know you’re near?
What if trials of this life are your mercies in disguise?
Do you think everything happens by random chance? One article I read said that "being lucky is the idea that by chance, something in the universe made a situation go in your favor. Being blessed is attributing a given situation to the goodness of God or another person." If you do not think things happen by chance then you should use "blessings".
James 1: 17, "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows."
Luke, Chapter six:
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
I believe this is where all good things come from and I am blessed! Are you lucky or blessed?
I am blessed!!!
