Love The Light

My Christmas tree was up a long time because I love the lights! For the first time, I was not ready to take it down. This has been a tough season of life and even decorating the tree was hard, reminiscing over the ornaments. The tree was a sign of hope and it meant more to me, spiritually, than ever before. I love the light! I am going to find some new lights to use - my Jesus lights - year round. A visible reminder of my hope in Him!

The lights, to me, are a visible sign of Jesus being the Light of the world and that brings hope! John 8: 12, "When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, 'I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.'" No matter how dark this world can be, as children of God, we have the Light of the World with us! In our home and in our heart! He is our Light, our salvation, our eternity and our stronghold no matter what is going on. Psalm 27: 1, "The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?" Isaiah 60: 20, "Your sun will never set again, and your moon will wane no more; the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your days of sorrow will end."

In Matthew 5: 14, Jesus told us, "You are the light of the world". We are to shine God's Light for all to see because darkness cannot remain when there is light. As children of God we are in the light and that is a weird phenomenon to those in darkness. Jesus planned it that way. No words, no preaching. Actions speak louder than words. Light gives direction. Light attracts attention. And those who act like they hate the light are still attracted to it. Let it shine!
