"I told my friend that I'm emotionally 'hitting a wall' and she said, 'Sometimes walls are there so we can lean on them and rest.' I can't even begin to express how much I really needed to hear that." There are times that I just need to be reminded that I don't have to handle everything. One perk to reading God's Word every day is that I am reminded that I do not have to handle it all by myself.
We get so overwhelmed with life and just need to be reminded that we need to lean on God. Proverbs 3: 5-6, "Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight." We need to rely on God. We need to run and jump into our Heavenly Father's arms and let Him hold us. It is when we finally give up and give in to God, that we are strong because we know we are weak! 2 Corinthians 12:10, "That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."
Not only is God with us today but He is already in our tomorrows - all of them. He knows our way and He has a plan for us. He knows our way, and He has a plan. Jeremiah 29: 11, "'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'" He will guide us. Proverbs 32:8, "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you." God has never expected us to figure it all out on our own. He just wants us to trust Him and recognize Who He is. He promised to make our paths straight. Proverbs 3: 5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
"Once a man was asked, 'what did you gain by regularly praying to God?' The man replied, 'nothing...but let me tell you what I lost: anger, ego, greed, depression, insecurity and fear.'"
