No other name can provide salvation but Jesus! He did what was required for us to have salvation. He humbled Himself, leaving heaven, and came to earth, in flesh, to live among us.

He became a servant to all, experiencing the same temptations, struggles and difficulties we have. And He did it all victoriously. Hebrews 4: 15, "For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin." He never sinned but He was tempted like we are. He died a horrible death, on the cross, for our sins. Philippians 2: 7-8,"he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!" According to Philippians 2:9, Jesus is the “name that is above every name.”

The name, Jesus, has power because of the One Who stands behind the name. The power is because of the blood Jesus shed for us on the cross. Acts 4: 12, "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved." Because of Jesus we can have salvation, becoming a new creation. 2 Corinthians 5: 17, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" When Jesus is our Savior we get to spend eternity with our Heavenly Father!

I was healed of cancer, years ago, in a healing service, in the name of Jesus. The church gathered around and prayed for me. James 5: 13-15, "Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven." There is power, healing, forgiveness and comfort in the name of Jesus!
