Easter reminds us that God can take care of all our dark Fridays! We have been on a spiritual journey from Ash Wednesday to Good Friday. We have been preparing our hearts and focusing on the cross and now rejoicing on Easter Sunday over Jesus’ victory over death. As we say in church, “Christ is risen! Christ is risen indeed!”

Mark 16: 1-4, "Now when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, that they might come and anoint Him. Very early in the morning, on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen. And they said among themselves, 'Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us? But when they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away—for it was very large. And entering the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a long white robe sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed." Not only was the stone rolled away but there was an angel sitting on it! God's ways are not our ways! We all face huge obstacles in our lives and what a reminder this is that we have someone who can move them for us! Isaiah 55: 8, “‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,’ declares the Lord.”

The Easter Season begins on Easter Day and ends on Pentecost. We focus on Jesus’ resurrection and ascension and the sending of the Holy Spirit (Pentecost). This season should be the most joyous and celebrated season of the Christian year. We have great news to share that in Jesus’ death and resurrection we are made new by His love and saving grace!

The world is waking up after a long winter! Easter is not over! Let’s share this good news with others! The resurrection is everything! We are Easter people and Hallelujah is our song!
