"'I love turning the clocks back so it gets dark at 4pm.' Said No One Ever!"

Mike has been dreading this for six months like so many other people. I do not like it because I love to spend time outside, even in the evening. Who knew even an hour could make such a change? Everyone has to adjust their schedules and routines. While I was writing this someone texted me and said, "oh my goodness...It is only 8: 12!" We need the light! We have no control over the time change but we can change our attitudes.

Every time I get the doldrums over the time change I am remind myself of where my Light comes from! My Provider is the real Light! He is the Light of the world! No matter if life is dark, rainy or foggy, He brings clarity and light through those times. He already knows what is up ahead and around the bend! He can see where we cannot see and He see's the whole picture. He has a plan for us. Jeremiah 29: 11, "'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'"

No matter what we are going through we can be sure that God's Presence will go before us, shining His Light and guiding our steps. Deuteronomy 31:8, "The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” So the next week when I get ready to complain about the early darkness I am going to, say out loud, "thank You God for Your Light in this dark world!"
