I saw a post about "growing up rich" and I had to make it mine! I grew up rich in a way that I learned to drive an old truck with the gears on the column, in a pasture at my Granny's. We went to Shoney's for BOGO free Big Boys on Tuesday nights. A big night out was going to Snoopy's on a Friday night to eat pizza and watch old black and white silent films. Vacations often included camping and cooking at the campsite! We got clothes when we needed them, not because it was Easter. We didn't have a "children's phone," we took turns using it.
I had a whole lot of other things. We had a warm house and we got to decorate our own rooms. I was loved by my family, extended family and friends. I was blessed with a lot of friends. I was rich with laughter! I wasn't rich in a way that I always wished but I was rich in a way that I wish I could have back. My greatest wealth came from being raised in a Christian home and learning about Jesus. That richness grew and multiplied better than any other investment!
My greatest wealth continues to multiply and grow and that is my relationship with Jesus. This is the kind of rich that gets passed down for generations and you pray that for them. The kind of rich that is not dependent on money. I grew up rich and I hope it shows!
"A rich life has nothing to do with money!"
