Here's Your Sign

Writer: Jill Jarrell NewsomeJill Jarrell Newsome

Maybe this is the sign you've been looking for. Maybe you need Jesus. Maybe you need to make Jesus your Lord and Savior. Maybe you need to return to Him. Maybe you need a personal relationship with Him. Maybe you need to make Jesus your priority! The Bible tells us to put God first and that when we do, God will provide our every need. Matthew 6: 33, "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." We naturally prioritize the relationships we value the most and God should be number one!

God should be Who we think of first, not after we call our spouse, mom or friend! He comes before finances, family, or friendships. When we put Him first, His goodness pours over us through provision, resources and power! Satan will try to get our priorities messed up but we have authority (the power God sent us) to stay focused on Jesus!

Jesus tells us not to worry about tomorrow. When we worry we are relying on our own strength and not God's. We are to put God before our calendar, phone, social media, emails or to do list. Jesus told us in Mark 12: 30, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength." Do we love Him like that? I don't believe I will ever get there but I hope I continue to move in that direction. Jesus also said in John 14: 15, "If you love me, keep my commands." This is how God wants us to love Him. He wants our first and best! With so many distractions in this world we have to be careful because if God doesn't get our time, somebody or something else will! “Your priorities must be God first, God second, and God third, until your life is continually face to face with God.”

You're the sheep that Jesus left the 99 for!
