Heaven Help Us
When I am planning a vacation I love to see the website and look at where I will be staying. I like to know a lot of the details so I can plan. Seeing the pictures helps me anticipate what is coming!
We can do that with Heaven also by reading God's Word. I believe we will see for the first time because we will be seeing through God's eyes. We will see beauty in everything and everyone like never before. We will be wanting to worship and work for God's glory! Revelation 14: 13, "Then I heard a voice from heaven say, 'Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.' 'Yes,' says the Spirit, 'they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.'” Hebrews 4: 10, "...for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his."
Luke 6: 21-23, "Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh. Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man. 'Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven. For that is how their ancestors treated the prophets.'" No one will be hungry nor will we eat our feelings! No one will cry and we will all laugh! These are promises of Jesus!
I do believe those who have gone on before us see what is going on in God's Kingdom on earth. I think they cheer us on but they are not sad because they do not see time like we do on earth. A little bit of suffering on earth is nothing compared to eternity. They see the bigger picture. I cannot wait to see my Dad and my grandparents. I used to say I couldn't wait to meet Mary, Moses, Job, Rahab, Joseph, the woman at the well, Mary Magdalene, and Hosea but then I go back to thinking about being with Jesus and I don't think anything else will matter. Pure joy!
To receive Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, pray this prayer:
Lord Jesus, I can't make it through life on my own. I sin. I have done bad stuff. I know there's nothing in the world I can do to make myself acceptable to You. But I know that You love me so much that You were willing to die on the cross for me. That's a grace so amazing I cannot understand it; I can only accept it. And I do accept this free gift. I know that from this moment on, I am saved. I am a child of God. And I give the rest of my life to serving You and experiencing the joy that only You can offer. Fill me now with your Spirit. I thank You and praise You! Amen.
