Heal or Stay Wounded

God will never allow something that there won't be good from. But the choice is ours how we handle things. We have a choice whether to forgive or not. If we let go, the sooner the better, we can move on. This is hard but if we stay "wounded" we bleed all over people and make a mess of things, not moving forward but staying stagnant.

Genesis 50: 15, "When Joseph’s brothers saw that their father was dead, they said, 'What if Joseph holds a grudge against us and pays us back for all the wrongs we did to him?'" God doesn't want us to hold people for what they did. He wants us to forgive and move on so our future is better than our past. Matthew 6: 14-15, "For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins."

Sometimes reconciliation is not an option. I don't believe you are to stay in a relationship where you are continually mistreated. Reconciliation has strings attached. We are to forgive and forgiveness has no strings attached. So forgive and move forward, giving up resentment. Leviticus 19:18, "Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord." We can not do this on our own but instead of playing over our hurts, we ask God to change us and fill us with His Spirit, He will transform our heart.
