He Showed Off Again 1/4

We had sold our house when the market was high and planned to start building in the next few months. Two and a half years later we were still waiting! Mike would say there was no inventory and I would remind him we only needed one house! He would talk about the high prices and I would tell Him God could do anything at the perfect time! Jeremiah 29: 11, “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” This tells me that God’s timing is perfect. We just had to trust while God worked. He had picked out all of our homes and He would again. I believed every bit of that but I was getting restless. After Christmas we would look!   

The first week of 2024 Mike found a house. He said he was the first one to see the listing. Divine intervention! We saw it before the sign went in the yard. We thought the asking price was wrong because we had not seen anything in that area for that price. What we loved about the house we wanted to build were the glass doors across the den to the lanai and this had that! We also wanted woods behind us and room for company to park on the street. Woods are behind it, a pond in front of us and good friends around us! The sellers were aggressive and accepted our offer. God had surely shown off! He doesn’t care about the economy! Isaiah 55: 8-9, “‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,’ declares the Lord. ‘As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.’” Just this weekend we heard, again, a neighbor say we stole this house. I laugh and said, again, "It was God showing off!"

So why did we have to wait so long? I believe because God used this time to teach us a lot including humility, patience, trust, not caring about material things or what anyone thought! 1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18, "Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.” The biggest thing God did during those two years I will share in the next blogs. It’s amazing!
