"Habakkuk said, 'Lord please tell me what you're doing.' No, I'm not gonna because if I told you what I was doing you wouldn't believe it." You could use this same conversation starting with "Jill said, 'Lord please tell me what you're doing.' No, I'm not gonna because if I toldl you what I was doing you wouldn't believe it.'" For years, I asked God what He was doing but I finally learned that He knows better than to tell me. He has to be "sneaky" because I would kick and scream, telling Him what I can't do, just like a little kid throwing a fit. I no longer ask what He is doing because I think it would scare me too much - I need baby steps. What I do know is that it will be wonderful and better than anything I can imagine so I thank Him daily for whatever He is doing in my life. I thank Him for His perfect timing as He prepares me for whatever is next!
Like Habakkuk, it is hard to believe what all God can do when we cannot even imagine what He can do! Ephesians 3: 20, "Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us..." God doesn't think like we do. He is too big for that! Isaiah 55:8-9, "'For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,' declares the Lord. 'As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.'"
Habakkuk was asking God what He was going to do, referring to his nation. When I look at our world today, I wonder what God is doing. I am thankful that my faith allows me to talk to Him about my frustrations and tell Him I know He is in charge. No politician, president, nation - nothing is bigger than God! Job 12: 10, "In his hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind." I thank God for being in charge and I must keep saying, "I trust You, God!' God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." Remember Psalm 22: 28, "For kingship belongs to the Lord, and he rules over the nations." He is the King of Kings!
