I get so aggravated when my hands are full or I am busy and I stop to answer my phone and it takes the person a few seconds to start talking. Then I hear the annoying robo call offering me a car warranty. And sometimes I get the call several times a day. Each time I hang up I block that number knowing that it does no good. Soon I will have more blocked numbers than contacts! Mom gets madder than I do and I keep telling her she is NOT the only one that gets those calls! Everyone is sick of getting robo calls about car warranties!
Want a real warranty? The best one ever! All parts! Labor included! Lifetime warranty? And this is an extended warranty - an eternal lifetime warranty! The first warranty we have to consider is for our life? Are we happy with it? We can actually trade our life in for a better one! Jesus explained this warranty to Peter and the other disciples like this. Mark 10: 29-30, "So Jesus answered and said, 'Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel’s, who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life.'" Jesus knows that a life without Him will be full of breakdowns, broken parts and we will feel worthless, ready to be towed to the junk yard! But with His warranty, we will have everything we will ever need. 2 Peter 1: 3, "His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness." We even have an army of believers who will be there at our time of need.
Life is too hard to do alone. When we accept God's warranty - gift of Salvation - we never have to be on our own again! That is great news, especially during these uncertain and dark times! Even the best intended warranties can be void when the company goes out of business. We do not have to worry about that. Jesus has already won the victory! 1 John 4:4, "You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world." And God is constant! Malachi 3: 6, "I the Lord do not change." He will always be with us! Deuteronomy 31: 8, "The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." We are told, again, in Hebrews 13: 5, "Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, 'Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.'"
We must be like Abraham and believe God's promises! Romans 4:16-22, "Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham’s offspring—not only to those who are of the law but also to those who have the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all. As it is written: “I have made you a father of many nations.” He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not. Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead—since he was about a hundred years old—and that Sarah’s womb was also dead. Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised. This is why 'it was credited to him as righteousness.'" This was more than a lifetime warranty. This extended through all of his descendants, which includes us!
Even when things are tough and we have been waiting a long time - God has not forgotten His promises to us. We must keep the faith and believe! Next time you get an annoying robo call about a warranty, just smile knowing that you have the best lifetime warranty available!
