Happy Birthday, Sarah!

On Saturday my first born, Sarah, will turn 30 and I have had lots of time to reflect! When I look at how God has blessed our family over the last two years I am amazed. I am reminded of my current favorite verse. Ephesians 3: 20, “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.”

Has she had to go through some unfair and tough times? Yes. None of us are without our troubles. John 16: 33, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” But I know that God will bring good from those tough times because we love Him. Romans 8: 28, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” I give thanks as I watch Sarah help and encourage others because of what she has gone through. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

God has showed off in many ways this year through all of the tough times. I will never forget how He sent the right people to help her when she was in the hospital in September and He saved her life. He showed off during her last surgery. He has shown off with her and Ivey's careers. He showed off when He brought both of my girls special men, at the same time. Mike and I are amazed at how the four of them have become friends and hang out all the time. On the weekends the six of us hang out and love being together. We love being close to our grown children and them being close to each other and we thank God. I feel like we were going through such tough times and we have turned the “corner of happy and healthy”! As I celebrate Sarah’s life I also celebrate how God is working in it.

Scripture tells about the wonderful blessing that children are. Psalm 127: 3, “Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.” How cool is it that the same God that created the mountains, oceans and galaxies thought the universe needed my Sarah too? And He chose me to be her mother! “Thanks be to God for His inexpressible gift!” 2 Corinthians 9: 15

Happy 30th birthday, Sar Bear!

No Plan B

My husband, Mike said, "there is no plan B." He had his mind set and would see it to fruition. He quickly added, "if that is what God wants". He was saying that if this was part of God's plan then he
