After researching skin cancer and sunscreens, I chose to no longer use sunscreen. (I am not a doctor and I'm not telling you to do this.) I wear a hat, long sleeves and sit under an umbrella when I am not in the water. I am high risk for melanoma and am more afraid of the sun screen than the sun. I learned there is a nerve behind our eye that tells the body how much protection we need while in the sun- if we don't wear sunglasses that mask the sun. The sun gives vitamin D, improves moods, helps regulate the body's circadian rhythms, supports bone health and lowers blood pressure. I sleep so much better! We need the sun. I am amazed when I study "natural" things at how many things come back to God's way. He had it all figured out!
Our bodies are perfectly made. Psalm 139: 14, "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." God created our bodies with incredible complexity! He made us with uniqueness. We have each been individually handcrafted because He wanted each one of us. He put different desires and gifts in us. In Jeremiah 1: 5, he recorded a message from the Lord, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."
God determined the time and place for us to be a part of His creation. Acts 17: 26, "From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands." And He placed us with a purpose! Ephesians 2: 10, "For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."
