Grow Through What You Go Through

My daughter reminded me that when I got sick I told them I was not going to waste the cancer. God wastes nothing and I was going to trust that. Every day I looked for the blessings and that was not always easy when you feel so bad. I remember one day the blessing was that I did not have hair and that helped with hot flashes. Another day was that I didn't have eye lashes and I do not like applying mascara which I didn't have to do. When I left the pity party I saw, early on, that God was going to show me a whole lot during this season.

I recently read what I wrote the first month of treatment. There would come a time that I looked at this cancer journey as a bump in the road with many blessings. God used that journey to grow me FAST! If I had not of been flat of my back for six months, I would not have looked up hours every day for a year! He brought me blessing after blessing and grew my faith and trust by the minute! Thank You, God, that we grow through what we go through!

Whatever you are going through, you do not have to walk this journey alone. Psalm 120: 1, "I call on the Lord in my distress, and he answers me." Call upon Jesus. Isaiah 58: 9, "Then you will call, and the Lord will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I." When we call, He answers. When we call on the Lord we are recognizing Him as our Savior. The more we call on Him the more our relationship grows and the more we surrender to His will. To call on the Lord is a sign of humility and dependence on God. "Those who leave everything in God's hands will see God's hands in everything."
