Going Deeper

During our revival, the Wilmington Celebration Choir sang, “Unclouded Day”. “Oh, they tell me of a home where no storm clouds rise. Oh, they tell me of an unclouded day. Oh, they tell me of a King in His beauty there And they tell me that mine eyes shall behold. Where He sits on the throne that is whiter than snow In the city that is made of gold.” To me, it feels like there has been a dark cloud over our world but there will be a day when God’s children will never see a storm cloud again!

Our visiting pastor talked to us about the difference anointing makes. Similar words are blessing, consecrating, ordaining. I say, God putting His touch on it. God can make the super in your natural making supernatural. God can add the extra to your ordinary making something extraordinary! If you look back on your life you will see those times. God blessed on us credit, and still does. We didn’t deserve any of it. When we are hungry and humble for the power of God we get His attention! As Pastor Brian says, in eastern North Carolina, we say, your “want to” changes. Our direction changes.

Because I am a beach person I love his analogy. If you are a tanner you sit on the beach looking cool. You are only going to go so deep with Jesus. God wants you to go deeper. If you are a wader you go out a ways but as soon as it is too cold or you are not in control you back out. God wants you to go deeper! Then there are those of us who don’t care what we look like and know it is easier, when it is cold, to go for it. Dive in and go under! Swim in the anointing of the Holy Spirit! This is where we strive to be.

“God’s love is like the ocean, you can see it’s beginning but not it’s end.”
