God's Peace

"Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me." I heard this song on the radio. I thought about life's stresses and how we are responsible for handing things over to God. He does not expect us to take it all on!

Even though things didn't look good, Isaiah knew God's promise that His plans are good. He is moving us toward the day when there will be no more death and He will wipe every tear from our eyes. He has ordained our peace. Isaiah 26:12, "Lord, you establish peace for us; all that we have accomplished you have done for us." We aren’t just promised peace during eternity. Isaiah tells us how we can experience peace in Isaiah 26: 32-4. "You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal."

Instead of letting our mind run away with negative thoughts, fear and/or anxiety we can be steadied by God's Truth! The same God who rescued David from Saul, who split the Red Sea, fed the multitudes, turned water to wine and brought back a dead girl is the same God that promises peace to you. You can trust Him with every detail of your life! John 14: 27, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." His peace is available, we just have to humble ourselves and allow Him to guide us!
